ALOE VERA

Soil Association Logo

Aloe Vera

At least 75 potentially active constituents have been identified in Aloe Vera including vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, anthraquinones, enzymes, lignin, saponins, and salicylic acids. It has been traditionally used for conditions as diverse as ulcerative colitis, hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes. Its use as a supplement for horses is generally based on the belief that is has a soothing and healing influence on the digestive tract. Certainly it should be regarded as a very useful addition to the diet for its diversity and range of nutrients alone.

Topically it is used for its purported cell-proliferating, collagen-stimulating, anti-bacterial and moisturising properties.

Horseward certified Organic Aloe Vera is meticulously prepared from filleted inner leaf gel and gently air dried to prevent heat damage to the bioactive constituents - a common failing in most extraction and processing techniques.
